Power of Connection
I was drinking coffee at Starbucks a few days ago and was catching up with an old friend. We laughed, we cried, and we had coffee. My friend has been through so much in the last year or so she is one of the strongest women I know. The rock in her family. She was opening up about having a hard time dealing with her life. We both agreed that the most therapeutic thing we have done over the past few years. Getting together and laughing over a cup of Salted Caramel Latte.
We both been through some tough times and lots of loss but we never forgot eachother. I never thought about this time we live in. People use Social Media to stay in touch. I do with a lot of my friends and family. Getting out of the house and going to coffee shop then actually going to a book store. I am a Kindle girl. I found my old world again. I believe a lot of problems we have is we have lost our human conection. We are wrapped up in our lives. We don't take time to stop for each other or ourselves.
I am techie as much as the next nerd girl. I was amazed about how much I felt better actually sitting there and talking about my life to my best friend and laughing like school girls again. Laughing I am telling you is almost better than first morning coffee. Yes this is true. I guess what I am trying to tell you is.... as much as I love my readers and my people. Get out and see friends and talk to them. Connect with people. I may have found my new writing office at starbucks. Connect with each other and lift each other up. If you have a friend that you know is having hard time. Go talk to them and spend time with them. Just your friends in general. I never knew my friend was in such a hard time until I talked to her. Social Media is wonderful place to hide from the world and yet show that your fine but crying when your posting how great your life is. Believe me I know. I have done it.
So my friends and coffee junkies call up old friends and lift each other up. This is a very busy and past world. Stopping and making time for each other is essintial. I know my life is busy and crazy with full time job, a toddler, and trying to have a writing career. Its nuts, not to mention I am thinking about going back to school get a bacholars. I know I am asking for it. My people and support will be essintial. So make time for them now. Make time for yourself. I am making it a personal vowel. I have some amazing fiends and new people in my life I call family. Because we just clicked. I need them. Do not doubt the power of human connection. Thats what we are put on this earth for. Namaste.
I just felt like sharing a picture of my best friend yes it my dog Natasha my side kick. One of my favorite Coffee and yoga budies.
