Happy Trick or Treating
Fall is my favorite time of year. The colors, decorations, football, and Halloween. All my favorite things in one season. Only if my allergies felt the same way. Unfortinatly in Kentucky you can have summer, fall, and winter all in a weeks time. No joke this true. Thats why we layer. Any way not to mention Pumpkin and Apple flavored EVERYTHING!!Love to watch scary movies, Harry Potter, wear costums, and CANDY!!! Its just a fun time of the year. If you go to walmart you have Merry-thanks-a-ween. Which is when the trees in Nightmare Before Christmas smash together in one store. The beginning of the Holiday celebration. I love Halloween the most but, where does it come from you ask? Well I give you a little history.
I was curiuse after watching Trick-r-Treat where all the halloween traditions came from. According to the history channel it came from Celtic Festival Samhain. They believed on Oct 31 is the begining of the dark time of the year. The spirits of the dead come accross a barrier to the realm of the living. Celtic preasts powers are stronger and can predict futurs to give the farmers something to look forward to for the next year. Large bonfires would be held and the people wear costums to ward off evil spirts. The costums would be made from animals skins and heads. This tradition of course evolved through the years. All Hallows eve came and now we have Halloween.
Where we wear costums of our favorte people. Watch Hocus Pocus on repeat along with Rocky Horror picture show. Both classics of course. Nothing beats a good slasher to make me jump. Around my house scaring each other is way of life. Pumpkins are painted and carved. Pumpkin patchs are visted with hayrides. Trying to take my child to ever fall festavil event is a treat. My child loves halloween more than Chuck E Chees he beggs to go to the halloween store. This moma is not complaining one bit. As a mom I wanted to give you some does and donts on halloween.
Some Trick or Tips to keep in mind while having fun. Now I always recomend the trunck or treating. Unfortunatly we live in day and time where going house to house is not always safe. People just have to spoile the fun. Now I was watching Hocu Pocus of course. The funny thing about the movie it shows eveything you should NOT do on Halloween.
1) The parents lets the kids go out on there own in town they just moved to...... Parents please dont do that. The responsibe one lit the black flame candel
2) The Sanderson sisters go into a house with a person they don't know .... No going into peoples houses you dont know Master or not
3) Candy is ate left and right not examind.... Most likely why the bullies in the movie are sick
4) Children playing in grave yards, zombies poping up
5) Children running to strangers for help ... getting pranked, no talking to strangers
6) Bracking into school setting witches on fire
7) Bus driver letting novis drivers drive, not a time to practices driving, drive slow and watch for cats
8) Littles kids out until the sun up, best until sun down, witches come out then
9) walked around town without a flashlight
10) I will say the one rule they keep was staying together
stay safe, no lighting candels, and if cat trys to stop you from doing something just go. Happy Halloween. Namasta
